Finasteride is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male pattern hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia. BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate. Finasteride will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the chance that prostate surgery will be needed. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as an alpha-blocker to treat BPH. For men with hair loss, finasteride will increase the number of scalp hairs but will not increase the amount of body hair.

Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow or hair loss in males. It will increase testosterone levels in the body, which decreases prostate size and increases hair growth on the scalp. The effect of finasteride on the prostate and scalp will only last as long as the medicine is taken. When it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again and the hair will be lost.

Objective:This study was designed to evaluate the effect of finasteride 1 mg (finasteride 1mg) on the ejaculation characteristics of male patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction.

Materials and Methods:The pharmacokinetic characteristics of finasteride 1 mg were compared with those of placebo and finasteride 1 mg in 18 healthy male subjects (age range, 18 - 60 years) with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction.

Results:The mean finasteride 1 mg dose of finasteride 1 mg in the erectile dysfunction study was significantly higher than the placebo group (p = 0.0009).

Conclusions:The pharmacokinetic characteristics of finasteride 1 mg in the erectile dysfunction study are consistent with those of finasteride 1 mg.

Finasteride 1 mg is a drug that can affect the ejaculatory process in male patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction.

Material and Methods:The study was conducted in a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, crossover study in 18 healthy male subjects with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction.

The mean total plasma finasteride concentrations and the ratio of serum to total plasma finasteride concentrations in the finasteride 1 mg group were significantly lower than those in the placebo group (p < 0.05). The finasteride 1 mg dose significantly lowered the total plasma finasteride concentration (p < 0.05).

Conclusion:The pharmacokinetic characteristics of finasteride 1 mg in male patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction are consistent with those of finasteride 1 mg.

Finasteride 1 mg and placebo are both safe and effective in male patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction (age range, 18 - 60 years).

A new study shows that men with hair loss are twice as likely to get a second look at the little blue pill finasteride for treating male pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic alopecia).

The study, published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, is part of a larger study of the drug. It examined hair growth and found that the drug worked as well as a placebo, but not for any hair loss treatment.

Dr. Lisa M. Chirag, from the Department of Dermatology at The Ohio State University, Ohio State University, told the newspaper that the drug may not be as effective as a treatment for hair loss, as a hair transplant is often considered more expensive. She also said she is worried about the side effects of the drug, especially for men. But she said it may be possible to use it for hair loss, but that it is not FDA-approved for this use.

The results are published in the New England Journal of Medicine. In the study, researchers compared the effect of finasteride (brand name Propecia) and placebo in men with androgenetic alopecia. They also looked at the side effects of the drug, including depression, anxiety, and hair loss.

Chirag and her team examined hair loss in the participants, and asked them to complete a questionnaire, which was done to gauge their ability to use finasteride for hair loss. Participants were also asked about the side effects of the drug, and those who reported side effects were asked about the possible benefits and risks of taking the drug. The results of the study appear on our website.

The study is one of several large, randomized, placebo-controlled, Phase III studies in which finasteride, a 1,200-milligram tablet of the drug, is compared with a placebo. Results of the study were presented to the National Institutes of Health, and the researchers concluded that the drug is a very effective treatment for hair loss, and that it is not an appropriate treatment for male pattern baldness.

The researchers are interested in the future of finasteride treatment for male pattern baldness. They are also investigating whether other treatments for hair loss might be better for hair loss. The study will be published this week in the journal Dermatology. Chirag said the study may be worthwhile for women.
